Chariot path of King Rawana – Pussellawa

Chariot Path of King Rawana is a Grassland (Plain) on a top of a mountain range that is surrounded by a pigmy forest, which looks like a pathway. It is a remarkably beautiful place, which has breathtaking views and unspoiled extraordinary environment. This is located near Frotoft Tea Estate in Pussallawa, Sri Lanka.

This is believed to be the route, by which King Ravana took Seetha from his capital city Lankapura to Ashoka Vatika by his chariot to show her the beauty of his kingdom. There is a pond called Seetha tear pond, which can be found in the middle of the chariot path and is believed it is formed by her tears. Villagers called this area as Meththappu and Pittani.
