There are many solutions you can purchase from the market for Waterproof camping tent. If you are unable to find the solution below video will guide you on how to make your own solution using easy ingredients.

Here we talk about seam sealing, refresh the current water-repellent coating, and applying a new durable water-repellent coating.

Seam Sealing

The seam is the join where two or more layers of the tent are held together with stitches. Seams are more prone to damage and leak water.

Washing Camping Tent

First, start with a clean tent. If water leaks through the seams of your rain fly or tent body it’s time to seal those seams.

All you’ll need is some rubbing alcohol and the right seal for your fabric. there’s one sealer for silicone fabrics and another for polyurethane-coated tents which are more common.

Rubbing Alcohol

Just prepare the water leaking area with rubbing alcohol.

Applying Seam Sealers

Sealers are easy to apply. Spread the sealant along the inside of the seam and let it cure.

Repair Waterproofing Coating

If your tent was waterproof before and there is water leakage now from rainfly or tent  floor, you can get it repaired as we did for seam sealers.

Cleaning Camping Tent

Lay your fly flat and gently remove the existing coating with rubbing alcohol and a sponge and then apply your waterproofing liquid coating. When you are done let it dry for at least 24 hours.

Applying waterproofing Coating for non waterproof tent

If water isn’t beating up on your fly anymore you can refresh the DWR coating. you’ll need a waterproofing spray like solar proof a clean damp cloth and some water.

Start by setting up the tent. Spray the coating evenly over the fly. after a couple minutes, you can take your damp cloth and wipe off any excess coating and make sure to let your tent dry before packing.
